is running irregularly. We can assist with these and other issues that need to
be addressed.
Types of service that we perform on automatic and mechanical movements:
Type A service
- Rewinding or battery replacement, outer case cleaning, gasket service, pressure test
- Performed free of charge for our regular customers.
Type B service
Partial repair of movement, replacement of possibly worn out movement/watch parts, rewinding, outer case cleaning, strap cleaning, gasket service, pressure test.
Type C service
Complete review of movement, replacement of possibly worn out movement/watch parts, rewinding, outer case cleaning, strap cleaning, gasket service, pressure test.
Type D service
Complete factory service.
Type E service
Complete factory service with restoration. Performed on models that have left production and on vintage watches.

a watch repair, please send us an e-mail to book a time or send your watch to us for an examination.
We will provide you with a cost estimate before initiating any repairs on your watch. We do not provide price estimates over the phone or email without physically inspecting and examining the watch.
The warranty service covers manufacturing defects on your watch. The warranty does
not cover damaged leather straps or if the watch has been damaged due to an external impact. We assist you with warranty matters for watches of all brands that we represent as an authorized retailer.
As an authorized dealer, we handle warranty claims and warranty service for the following brands: Aquastar, Bremont, Chronofixe, Corum, Filippo Loreti, Franck Muller, Habring2, Ikepod, Louis Erard, MALM, Mido, Montblanc, Nivada Grenchen, Praesidus, Rado, Raymond Weil, Seiko, Sjöö Sandström, Suunto, Swatch, Tissot, Unimatic, Vulcain, Zodiac.
These brands offer two to five years of warranty on watches that are valid worldwide.
To perform a warranty claim, you need to submit the following during the same visit to us:
• Your watch
• Purchase receipt that came with the purchase
• Purchase receipt that came with the purchase
Would you like to replace the battery in your watch? We're here to help. We accept all watch brands for battery replacement and provide comprehensive service, including:
- Battery replacement
- Cleaning of the glass, case, and case back
- Gasket cleaning/replacement
- Water resistance check.
Valuation Of A Watch
Do you need to evaluate your watch in order to sell it, or if you have just acquired a watch and you want to notify your insurance company?
We help you to evaluate your watch and perform a valuation certificate on watches of all brands.
At Fredmans, all valuations are carried out by an appointed appraiser of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
In order to carry out an evaluation, you need to leave or send your watch to us for a physical examination.
We do not carry out evaluations over email or telephone.
After the evaluation has been carried out, you will receive a certificate with a picture of your watch and value of the watch, both market value and value of a new watch. The valuation certificate serves as proof of value for the insurance company, in the event of a sale, gift or division of property.
How much does the valuation certificate cost?
The price for a valuation of your watch including the valuation certificate is from 990 SEK plus from 0.5% to 1% of the value of the watch.
How long does it take to get a valuation certificate for a watch?
Usually we can carry out a valuation in 1 to 5 working days.
Repair of a watch in case of insurance
If your watch has been in an accident, has suffered shock or water damage or if you have lost your watch, your home insurance may cover all or part of the repair cost, or the purchase of a new watch. Usually, home insurance covers watches and jewelry up to the amount of SEK 50 000, but special watch insurance can also cover more than
that.
If you have purchased a watch or jewelry from us, you will receive free insurance for 6 months. If something happens during this period or if you have extended the insurance, you can receive compensation regardless of the damage.
If you have not extended the insurance, the terms and conditions of your home insurance apply.
We can help you with your notification to the insurance company and until you receive your repaired or new watch back.

Below you will find the most
common insurance cases.
A shock-damaged watch is one of the most common insurance cases we handle on mechanical or automatic watches.
The damage usually occurs when you have dropped the watch, or if the watch has been hit.
Sometimes a light hit to the watch's crown is enough to affect the watch's movement.
If your watch has been subjected to shock damage, the watch will probably exhibit one or more of these deviations:
- The watch starts to run irregularly or too fast.
- The watch has stopped and its crown has come loose.
- It is difficult to turn the crown and set the time.
- There is visible damage to the case or glass.
- Hands or parts of the indexes on the dial have come loose.
Water or moisture damage can occur at the same time as impact damage or after an impact damage.
In the case of this type of damage, your home insurance usually covers this.
If the watch has been exposed to water or moisture damage, the watch will probably show one or more of these deviations:
- Visible water under the glass or on the dial
- Fog on the inside of the glass
- Discoloration on the dial or hands
- The watch is malfunctioning and does not keep time.
In order to prevent or avoid more serious damage to the movement, leave the watch for service as soon as possible after the damage has occurred.
We do not recommend trying to dry the watch yourself or waiting for the water to disappear, as water damage does not disappear by itself.
If you have lost your watch or if you have been robbed, we can help you to evaluate your watch and help you get compensation from your insurance company.
The first thing you need to do is file a police report. Afterwards you can call or visit us and we will help with your insurance case and contact your insurance company.
